Do you ever have those moments at work where you think to yourself, is this really my life? Sure I graduated at the top of my class in college and sure I moved across the country to pursue a career in entertainment and yes, I do technically work in the ‘biz’ but …are you kidding me? If someone had told me during my freshman year of college I would be ordering lunches and going on coffee runs at this point in my life, I probably would have gone into ‘consulting’ like the rest of my happy-to-be-average hometown friends.
Ok. So, here’s the deal, let’s put our fake, public personas of “I love my job and I love my boss and I love my life and blah blah blah” on hiatus. We all like to pretend we’re in the perfect job, climbing the corporate ladder at lightening speeds, but it’s time to get real. Admit it, we’re all confused. We’re all trying to figure it out. We’re all constantly questioning whether or not we’re in the right place, in the right job and whether or not our work voicemail message screams ‘newbie.’
It doesn’t matter if you’re engaged, if you did just buy your own condo (you suck), hell, even if you did just lose 30 pounds, the fact of the matter is….between the hours of 8 AM and 6 PM, you can’t help but ask yourself, “Is this really my life?"
I mean, I’m not alone on this…am I?
